Thirty-Four

Sally's POV

A week has passed since my near-death experience. And, I must say, it has not been a pleasant journey. I mean, what did I expect, a self-built fort and toy guns?

This is not a child's game. This is the real world, the cold harsh reality. I scolded myself.

I was sick of being at home, especially with Oliver still there. Yes, he's still there, just a few more days until he leaves. I've noticed that he's been avoiding me lately though, I wonder why, not that I'm complaining. But maybe he was afraid to see me.

And the old man wasn't around in my personal space like before, which I felt great about, again, I'm not complaining.

Grab a few important things before leaving the house, my laptop, phone, money, and house keys. I stuffed them all into my bag.

Both sides of my midsection still hurt, but all I did was take painkillers or sleep. Although sometimes when the pain feels unbearable, I will luckily pass out in my room, and not make a big deal out of it.
