CH93 - Kai's POV

I really did not want to go into battle against this pack. My fear of their alpha had not subsided, and knowing he would be just as heartless to our side as the one who had killed my parents brought me nothing but dread.

Anything could go wrong, and many of us may never make it home again. This was the reality so many of us had known since we were children. Losing members of our pack, our parents, siblings or even children. I knew this had to end today, and that there was no other choice, but it never made doing this any easier.

As we marched towards the pass between the two cliffs, the scouts motioned for us to stop. I glanced towards Dereck and waited for him to speak with the scout. Although I listened carefully to what was being said, I cast my gaze on the small army behind me.

Each wolf was strong, healthy and looked ready for this battle, though the unease never left their faces. What we were planning was risky, but the results would be worth it.
