Chapter 28: Gone Wolf

NATHAN

When I saw Rhea come out of the doors of the hair salon, I took a moment to think fast.

She was a werewolf, and she had just stepped out of the hair salon, which was supposed to be spelled.

It only meant one thing.

"The spell. The barrier is down," I said, my eyes still on Rhea as she walked down the road on the sidewalk.

I picked up my phone, dialing Carolyn, but there was no answer. She'd probably left her phone in the car.

The salon wasn't safe anymore. If the barrier was down, making it easy for anyone to access the salon, then they would be on high alert for any werewolves that may go in there. If they already knew, we were on their tail. If they suspected, we knew what was up.

Fuck. But that was a lot of ifs.

I watched grimly as she entered the hair salon. There was no going back now. But Carolyn was a good fighter. And her wolf was strong. She'd have to look out for herself in there.

"What about Rhea?" Lannon asked.

"Leave her."

He didn't question me, but he shot me
