Chapter 29: Saved By The Alpha

I strolled the grounds, feeling a sort of peace I had never felt before. I knew it was a fragile sort of peace. Like the way I felt when my father, stepmother, and Erin went on their little family trips without me.

I always enjoyed those weekends I was home alone. It was always short-lived, but it was more than I even hoped for.

The garden was peaceful. Bees buzzed around the petals of the flowers, singing songs of seduction.

I tried to remove my mind from the worry that plagued me.

The maids hadn't come today. It was like after Nathan had thrown me out of the pack meeting, word had gone round of what happened.

I refused to take my meals at the dining hall. The looks and insults I got during the meals too unbearable. I ate in my room alone.

I walked past the garden further into the grounds of the Villa. There were huge trees all over the place in the back. Trees with outstretched branches you could climb onto and watch the sunset. The sun had already gone down for the day.
