Chapter 84: A Fairytale Princess

I fidgeted, pressing a fist to my mouth. What was I going to do?

If it was someone who meant to return me to Nathan, then calling out to ask them who they were would announce my presence to them.

If I pulled open the door slightly to take a peek,they could see me too. The door didn't have a peephole.

I paced nervously as I waited to hear the knock again.

There was no sound from the opposite side of the door. No knock came.

I waited and waited with my heart in my throat, but nothing.

I finally drew nearer to the door, fear making me take short steps. I pressed my ear to the door, waiting for any movement at all, but still nothing.

A werewolf would easily hear my movements through the door, though.

I took in a deep breath and pulled the door open, peeking through the small opening.

I couldn't see anyone in the corridor. I pulled the door open wider and found the corridor empty. Not a sound came from any of the rooms, too.
