I wake up with a start, feeling groggy and stiff from being curled up in bed all night. I pull back the sheets and crack my stiff body, stretching out my limbs. I splash some water on my face and brush my teeth before heading to our secret place to eat breakfast with Seline.

But to my disappointment, Seline wasn't there. I look around, feeling a pang of sadness and loneliness. I head over to the makeshift kitchen to gather our breakfast, but before I can even pick up the tray, it is snatched away from my hands. It's Ardiane, one of the other female wolves in the pack. She sneers at me, her eyes narrowing.

"What are you doing here, Daciana? Shouldn't you be doing something useful for once?" She taunts with a smirk.

I gulp, feeling my heart pounding in my chest. I am not good at confrontations, and Ardiane's sharp words make me shrink away even further. I lower my gaze, knowing that I can't fight back.

"I-I-I was just gathering our breakfast," I stutter meekly.
