CHAPTER 35

Life is like a game show hosted by the deities, where the rules change every round. You don’t know where you’ll find yourself the next day, or if you’re even alive to witness it.

All I thought was I was going to die on the hands of the man I love like a dramatic play you’d often see on highschool musicals.

Who would have thought I’d be looking at my own body, maneuvered by the man I loathed, so much I wished for him to experience the pain I’ve gone through.

I stare at the same pair of Auburn eyes, long black hair, and a body that could demean those women in the world beauty pageants — that’s what I was partially known for: my beauty.

That’s myself, walking towards me, but it’s not me. The situation was failing to wrap around my head. I couldn’t help but pinch my arm to wake me up.

Of course, anyone seeing themselves walking towards them would think it’s all just one fucked up dream.
