Chapter seventy nine

Selena

When I left Angel's office, I needed a change of scenery, something to clear my head. I was scheduled to pick up a friend of my father from the airport, so I headed there, not expecting anything out of the ordinary. However, as I approached the arrival gate, I spotted a young man waiting, and he looked strangely familiar.

He approached me with a warm smile, and my heart skipped a beat. "Selena, I presume? I'm Daniel, your father's friend's son."

Recognition dawned on me, and I shook his hand with a polite smile. "Yes, I remember my father mentioning your name. Welcome to our city, Daniel. Let's get your bags and head to my home."

As we walked to the car, Daniel complimented me on the city and its surroundings, making small talk along the way. He appeared to be polite and well-mannered, and it put me at ease.

When we arrived at my house, I showed Daniel to the guest room where he would be staying. He was appreciative and commented on the beauty of the house.
