Chase's POV:

The morning sun cast long shadows as I made my way to the meeting point Heaven had specified. The air was thick with tension, a palpable reminder that despite our shared history, this alliance was anything but amicable. I couldn't shake the feeling that Heaven had something up her sleeve, and the prospect of following her to the border for weapons only added to the unease.

As I approached the rendezvous, Heaven emerged from the shadows, a confident smirk on her face. "Took you long enough, Chase. I thought you might have gotten lost."

I rolled my eyes, unamused by her taunts. "Save the sarcasm. What's this about going to the border for weapons? You know we could have handled this separately."
