Chapter 4 - Min Dam

Finally, she found a new job in a coffee shop. It was fine for her since she works as a cashier there. If she converts it to Philippine pesos, it's still a lot of money. She is not picky about jobs; if she is interested in one, she will pursue it.

The Coffee Shop was not as crowded since it had just opened and was not as well known as other coffee shops. And she was with two other Filipinas who work at the coffee shop. She immediately made two new friends.

"He's extremely attractive, isn't he?"

The two ladies, whose names she knew as Hera and Trixie, were fantasizing while their gazes were drawn to a large flatscreen TV in the corner. She glanced at them right away, just to roll her eyes at the person they were talking about. She simply ignored them and returned her focus to the menu. She has no interest in coffee, therefore she must remember every variety on the menu! It's difficult, though.

"I wish I was as fortunate as his girlfriend." Hera said, daydreaming again like a fool.

"Don't fantasize about it, Hera. That man will only break your heart," she can't help but say.

They approached her and teased her. "You have a thing on the captain, don't you?" They laughed.

She shook her head but made no comment. If Lianne to ask, it is quite unfortunate for a girl to like that man named Zyd. And they say I like him?

She's had enough of it, rolled her eyes and went back to work.

Lianne was pleased as they accommodated more than 20 customers on that particular day. They were preparing to close the business because it was already 10 p.m. when three customers walked in. Three dashing men walked into the store and took a seat in one of the vacant chairs. They ordered brewed coffee while talking in different languages. One of them was the man who had asked her on the swing two weeks ago, and she recognized him, and she noticed the way he was looking at her.

"They are so gorgeous! They keep a low profile in public, so how could you possibly anticipate this?" Hera mumbled, almost dying with a grin.

What’s in them? Don’t tell me they’re actors?

She looked at them out of confusion.

"Girl, they're hockey players."

For a little while, she was speechless. Well, she's not interested, so she just shrugged her shoulders and ignored them. She doesn't give a damn about how attractive their customers are! She's allergic to attractive men. What type of allergy is it? Perhaps, handsomellergic.

"Man, remember the woman who hit McCluskey in the bar we went to? Argh! She's darn hot."

She almost tripped over the chair in which she was sitting. Are they referring to her?

"Yeah, the one wearing red; I agree, man."

Even though she was aware that they were clueless that it was her they were talking about, she still feels anxious and finds it difficult to concentrate while using the computer.

"I want to fuck her so bad! I won't stop until she moans my name in pleasure." The other man burst out laughing.

She was offended by what the man said. Perverts!

I want to smack that cretin!

She didn't know she'd left her spot and was walking towards those men while carrying their bills. "Here," she said coldly as she placed the receipt on the table. She wasn't supposed to act this way, but she can't control her emotions right now because of these perverts.

"We haven't asked yet," remarked the man she met on the swing.

"Oh, sorry," she said, faking a smile. "And besides, sobrang babastos ng mga bunganga niyong mga hayop kayo. Magsialis kayo rito!" Besides, your mouths are as disgusting as you are, jerks! Get out of here!

They looked puzzled by what she said, exchanged glances, and nodded. "Oh, sorry? You want. . . our autographs?"

"What?" Her brows arched. What are they talking about?

She was taken aback when the attractive man she had first met on the swing got up, had her wear his ball cap, and then kissed her right on the lips. She was speechless for a time, but before she could react, her hand reached the man's cheek, and she gave him a hard slap!

Tristy and Hera rushed after her and immediately dragged her away. But before that, they apologized to their customers before shoving her into the stockroom. She was so furious that she wanted to go back to these scumbags and kick their balls, she realized that she had made a huge mistake by threatening their customers in this way. It looks like she needs to look for another job again. Bullshit!

She only prayed that those men wouldn't file charges, but why should she care?

"Lianne, why did you do that? Why did you slap that man named Henrik?" Hera nagged her.

"It's because he kissed me!"

"God, you should be proud of yourself for getting a kiss from one of Pittsburgh's famous people." Trixie muttered, rolling her eyes at her.

"And I don't give a damn about him!"

***

LIANNE forgets about the incident, and the owner gives her another chance. And she will lose her job if it happens once again. She needs to adjust to her new surroundings; she was not in the Philippines to be that sensitive. She will need to adjust to her new surroundings.

Days had passed, and she was grateful that those men—especially the one who gave her a kiss—never came back!

She blushed just thinking about that, and she was especially irritated by Hera and Trixie's constant taunting whenever they brought up the name of that man, Henrik Gustavsson, a Swedish NHL player who played for a rival team to the one who had kissed her in the middle of the road.

"King Henrick is coming!" Hera couldn't help but smile, but she shrugged her shoulders.

She saw the man come alone, wearing a ball cap, a casual shirt, and a jacket. That jerk!

The man ordered brewed coffee and cookies while sitting in the corner. Hera and Trixie helped her, and she pretended she didn't see the man. Her face became sour when she noticed in her peripheral vision that the man rose up and approached her.

"Hey!"

She forced a smile as she raised her head. She reminded herself that this man was a customer, and she needed to be courteous to him. "Yes, sir?" And how can I start acting nicer once again? It’s so frustrating!

"Um... about what I did..."

"Yeah?"

"Um, sorry."

W-what?
