CHAPTER 51

The next morning after we got up and dressed we headed downstairs to the dining room and Freya was just leaving for school and Spencer and Cole were nowhere to be seen either. So Asher and I sat in the informal dining room at a table next to the window and I was looking out at the sun shining down and the gardens outside.

" Are you alright?" Asher asked.

" Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?" I asked.

" I don't know. You just look a little pissed off." He says.

" Why the hell shouldn't I be pissed off?" I asked just as Lucy walked over with a tray and put down our plates of food and two coffees.

" Enjoy guys." She says walking away. And I just sat there and stared at the coffee and then looked at Asher.

" We have to pretend like we don't know anything." Asher whispered.

" I'm not drinking that. Who the hell knows what she's been putting in it." I say.

" It's just birth control." He says.

" What kind? It could be poison for all I know. It could be rotting my insides for all we kn
