Chapter 35: Best – Frenemies.  

Jasmine's POV

“She must still be in the dark...

... I bet, she's so naive...”

A few staff whispered to one another as I clocked in at the reception and walked past the hallway to my office. I was very much certain that it was about me because the murmur intensified when they saw me. What was wrong though?

“... I would never forgive him if I were her...

... They are like siblings, after all...”

The worst part was that a few glared at me without blinking for once. Jeez! I was going wild. I tried to keep my balance and not look behind me to see if someone else was there, it would seem like their nasty behaviors were getting to me.

It's rude! Can you guys trim it down?! I wanted to tell them so desperately, it was getting really annoying and uncomfortable, but what if they were not talking about me?

The odds were high, I got past the reception, and down the hallway and everyone kept shooting glances and whispering, quite loud enough for my hearing. But then again, I could be paranoid.
