‘Liam is innocent.’ I whispered to myself countless times, hoping to believe my words over theirs.

Kylie knew something. And it was freaking me out. What scared me the most was that I was thinking in a direction I shouldn't in a million years. She was playing a mind’s game with me, and I bet she knew she was getting to me.

"I need to go through with this and give them to Dr. Berneji, you know how grumpy he can be.” She tried to bail out.

“Jasper told Liam he wouldn't be handing him the footage, and I had to let it go.” I held her back with my statement. She needed to finish what she started.

Dr. Kylie scoffed and resumed scouting through the files in silence, hurting me deeper with unspoken words of Liam's involvement in my ruin.
