BLADE’S POV

We literally ran back to the palace, the same thing evidently on both of our minds.

Evanora. My Evanora. I couldn’t afford to lose her. I just couldn’t.

Silently praying as I ran, I recalled the arrow hitting her right by her heart. Fear gripped me at the thought of her not being fine. She needed to stay strong. I needed her to.

My breathing became heavier as I ran. Oddly, the palace seemed to be longer as after what seemed to be hours of running, we still hadn’t gotten there.

After seeming like forever, we finally arrived at the palace. Side by side, we rushed towards the garden the ceremony was being held. Tearing through the crowd as we got there, we rushed towards the podium to see Evanora was no longer there.

“Where’s she?!” I and the king asked in unison, the fear and worry evident in our voices. “Where is she?”

“She’s in one of the tents with the witch.”
