Book 5: Chapter 2: Fiance

“Dark, how are you doing?” Travis greeted the young man. He is only 23 years old, but he looks like he has a lot of experience in life.

“I’m fine,” Dark replied coldly while looking at the main door of the mansion.

Travis stopped himself from shaking hands with the young man, and it seemed that his attention was not on him.

“So, what’s your answer now?” Rex De La Vega asked Travis.

Travis observed the young man again before answering the gentleman. “We’ll talk inside.”

Without a word, Dark followed the two adults who entered the house. They went straight to the library, and that was what he hated the most.

“Dark, even just for now.” Rex calmly pleaded with his grandson.

Travis understood why the young man didn’t want to talk in a library. He heard then that Rex’s son was shot in their library, and Dark witnessed it. He was still young when the tragedy happened, and what happened is already embedded in his mind.

“Let’s go to the living room.” Travis closed the library door again
