New day at work

EVA'S POV

It was my first day at work, and I was bursting with excitement. I had been up since dawn, too nervous and thrilled to sleep. My outfit was carefully chosen, and I had triple-checked my bag for everything I might need. The clock ticked slowly, but finally, it was time. Sophie, my best friend, had promised to come to my apartment so we could go to work together.

I heard a knock at the door. Before I could even reach for the handle, Sophie burst in, her energy filling the room.

"Good morning!" she sang, looking effortlessly stylish as always. "Ready for our big day?"

"Ready as I'll ever be," I said with a grin, feeling my nerves ease a little.

"Great! Let's go!" Sophie grabbed my hand and practically dragged me out of my apartment. We hurried down the hallway, but instead of heading to the elevator, she made a sharp turn.

"Uh, Sophie, the elevator's this way," I pointed out.

"Change of plans," she said, not breaking her stride. "We’re going to get Tristin to drive us."
