Chapter 137: The Wedding Crash Guest

Daniel felt his fists clenching in secret. Above all else, he lacked time; Charlie Sr. would soon come knocking at his door, and if he didn't marry Margret and flee the country, all his efforts would be for nothing. He put on a smile and hugged Margret tightly without saying anything for a while. Then he let go and gazed searchingly into her face.

"Do you trust me, Meg?" Daniel asked, his smile still in place.

Margret swallowed, her throat feeling tight. She nodded reluctantly. Daniel looked down and spoke confidently, "You don't have to be afraid, Meg. I promise to always treat you well and make sure we have a happy home together. You have my heart, Meg, because I love you."

Margret was quiet for a moment before a bright smile spread across her face. "I'll go put it on," she said before walking away.
