Chapter 26: The Court Bailiff Visit

Butler Mark was left in charge of Celestine by Madame Agnes, as she went to meet Charlie Sr. who was waiting for her in her pavilion.

"Charlie, you should have informed me before coming," Madame Agnes remarked as she entered the pavilion.

Charlie Sr. stood up and respectfully bowed his head, addressing her as "grandma".

Madame Agnes scrutinized his face before taking a seat and gesturing for him to do the same.

As Charlie Sr. began to speak, he said to his grandmother, "I apologize for not calling ahead of time. Mother, I must express my concern about ostracizing the Robertson family from our long-time partner without consulting anyone. This decision will not only affect the Robertson family but also threaten our relationship with other aristocratic families in Houston. It may result in a revolt against us."

Madame Agnes' expression darkened, and she responded coolly, "Do you suggest that I should have consulted with you before making such decisions?"
