I nervously look down on the papers. The black inked words seemed like tiny ants on white sheets as my mind trailed of the worst outcomes of the day's events.

It's the trial day.

I couldn't sleep for the whole night. Many things ran at the same time inside my head including my conversation with Colton and his departing words. He wasn't ready to give up on the case which means I had to tell Chase the truth of his existence sooner than I planned or never planning to tell.

"Eve, don't stress yourself. I told you thousand times that they'll loose it in the first hearing. I have the best lawyers working on this case for over a month." Dominic rubbed my back to release my stress but it didn't help.

"You won't understand, Dom. There is a constant uneasiness in my heart like something is going to happen. Something I or you or anyone haven't imagined. I just can't pin this feeling." I looked up at him with helplessness and moisture sitting on the rim of my eyes.

"I promised you
