Ever since the day Tom declared his intention of getting the whole group, Amber began to make moves on her own end too. She would not wait and let Tom be ousted from the group just like that after all his hard work throughout the years. She was well known in the secretaries’ groups, so everyone was already ready to render help whenever she needed one. She thought about using them to her advantage, and they were willing to help. Her mother was finally discharged from the hospital, and she brought her home to stay with her. The drive down to the wedding venue was a silent one as different thoughts flowed through her head. She had still not figured out why Tom was bent on making her follow him to the wedding when she clearly didn’t want to go. It was something that was against her will and she would be lying if she claimed not to be disappointed in his rigid decision. Nevertheless, the outcome of the wedding will determine the new turnout of their relationship both as a boss and employee and also as lovers, because she’s not ready to date someone who will not reason with her but fix his own decisions on her instead. Even though Mr. Joe offered to drive her back. She declined flatly and told him she would find her way home. She ordered a taxi back home and the thoughts of how Tom could do something drastic at someone’s wedding overflowed her brain. As much as she wanted to laugh so hard at his priceless reaction when his karma came back to bite his ass, the despair the bride must be feeling wouldn’t allow her laugh as much as she wanted. For some reason, she knew within her that Tom only forced her to come, so she could witness the scenario as a payback for what happened back then at the company, but she was still not happy with him. Has it been that long I got into your car?”, she blabbered, but as much as he wanted to give a response, he held himself back. She knew her tricks to make him talk were not working on him. It was then she realized the extent of the damage she had caused by her hard-headedness. She didn’t even give him any room for explanation, kept on assuming and believing things on her own accord.
