CHAPTER THIRTY NINE

When I get home in the afternoon, the loud knock on my door causes me to jump out of my skin. When I hear a noise outside, my immediate reaction is to go to the door, and in my haste, I don't even think about what might be hiding behind it when I open it.

"Oh my god, Darcy, thank god. I have an important question for you. It's Kerry, and she looks dreadful.

"What exactly is it?" Please do so." I drag her inside my home despite her trembling and showing clear signs that she has been crying. I'll ask her again as soon as she settles down on the couch. "What's the matter?"

It is the first time I have ever seen her cry like that. She makes the shocking revelation, "I'm fucking pregnant."

I can't believe she could be that ignorant; how could she? I really need to know. Whose child is this, exactly?
