18. I CAN'T...

"Detective Brown, I think it's high time you dropped that case. It's not really in need anymore." A cop patted Brown's shoulder as they left the crime scene. He didn't wait for Brown's response before leaving.

Brown sighed and licked his dry lips. He looked around the crime scene in front of him. Things were really getting out of hand and was he supposed to turn a blind eye to it? How was that possible? He wasn't brought up that way especially to see the less powerful suffer in silence.

Then Brown sighted another man and it seemed as if the solution to his problem had been found. He quickly approved him.

"Sire, good day."

"Good day, Detective. How was the weekend?" The man asked him.

"Well, I spent the weekend working on the case only for your fellow cop who told me to stop working on it. I found it hard to believe because we all know the real truth of how..."

The cop stopped walking and placed his hand on Brown's shoulder.
