ETHAN

It was yet another day, and the familiar haunting presence of my nightmares continued to linger even while I slept soundly wrapped in Brent's arms. It was always comforting having him beside me as I slept but even this didn't completely ease the fear and anxiety I felt.

"Johnny will come and see you," Tyler had promised over the phone. "He will explain everything to you, I promise."

I knew I shouldn't get my hopes up, but the thought of finally understanding what was happening gave me a glimmer of hope. It was clear that I had gotten myself involved in something that I didn't fully comprehend, and the uncertainty was driving me insane.
