After everything that happened with the Beta becoming the Alpha and all, he goes ahead to declare that the wolves return to their houses and daily lives. He orders for Scarlett's corpse and that of her cousins to be moved to a separate room at the insistence of Atlas, who says that they cannot be buried until Atlene is back to at least say his goodbyes because he was not aware of the deaths.
Atlas disputes at every meeting, waging an all out war on his father, the new Alpha. He flouts orders and disobeys rules and regulations. The Beta keeps letting him off because after all, he is his successor, unless the democracy thingy sticks with them.
Eventually, the Beta can no longer take Atlas's insults and insistent disobedience of his laws. If his own is not going to follow the rules and regulations that he lays down for the pack, then what was the use of it all? It showed that he did not have control over even t
"Hello, Guys…" A voice says from outside of the house where there is nothingness. Atlene looks over at the little girl whose name happens to be Ringan. They both have fear boldly written on their faces, especially as they do not know what to expect in the deep, large darkness that looks like space, but darker, deeper and a thousand times scarier. As Atlene abruptly gets up from the seat he is occupying, he belches loudly as they both just finished having breakfast. Ringan looks with disgust at Atlene, who feels like the voice is way more important than a stupid belch."Who… Who are you?" Atlene asks with a feigned timbre in his voice even as he just wanted to literally pass out and not have to deal with any struggles for some time. His body, spirit and soul were exhausted with the drama. The owner of the voice giggled, and Atlene's features are relaxed enough fo
One thing Atlas notices is the fact that the other eleven men look healthy and strong, but all act like ninnies. They only ever do what the buxom lady asks them to do, and all their eyes are hazel and look painted on. They all neither blink nor yawn. The only thing that shows that they are not statues, are the mechanical things that they are doing. Like spooning the tomato soup into their mouths and biting into the bread.Atlas looks around him, beginning only after that vision, to wonder why they had been so kind to him. The buxom lady treated and still treats him like he is one of them. Why is there a house in the middle of woods, housing one handsomely curved lady and eleven robotic acting men? As he thinks about the whole thing, he observes that the food seems to be recharging the men, like renewing one's subscription plan. There and then, Atlas knows that he has to do something to get out of there and he has to do it fast.&
Atlene takes his time out to teach Ringan the Parable of the Lost Cause. Ringan learns it as fast as she can, reciting it all around the clock when she's on duty watching out at the window for the kite, and when she's eating, pooping or anything else.Paula had asked them to recite it thirteen times when the kite appeared, but she had not told them how long it would actually take for the kite to appear on the dark nothingness."I wonder what is going on back at the mansion." Atlene suddenly said as he sat by the window, looking out at the blackness every five seconds. Ringan looked up at him from the paper she's been scribbling on for some minutes."I wonder if my brother has finally probably married Scarlett, and they have all moved on without me… DoesDoes anyone miss me at all? My father?" He loks very sad and near tears, and it tugs hard at Ringan's heart strings as
"Atlas?" Atlene calls out, and Atlas turns abruptly, almost falling down in his haste."What is wrong with you, man? What are you acting all strange about? You straight?" Atlas's only surviving companion, Cameron calls out in a fake brave tone. But he is looking around in fear."You really need to chill out, bro. I am trying here. I thought I heard someone call my name, which is why I turned so abruptly. Sorry." Atlas apologizes, still looking around for a person."Atlas, it is me… ImI'm right here by this window…" Atlene says, waving wildly as it dawns on him finally."They can't see us right?" Ringan says tiredly, sighing in frustration as Atlene looks back through the window."Did you hear that?" Atlas asks, turning again in the dark. I definitely heard my brother's voice… Atlene, are you out there?
SCARLETT'S POVI have been struggling to remember or recognize any signs that can lead me to the missing Princess, but nothing seems to be adding up in my brain. In the Prince's body, things feel very tight and strict, and I struggle to not mess up, not to draw unnecessary attention to the fact that I am in fact not the actual Prince."Don't apologize to me!" The King snaps, hitting his palm hard on the surface of the rich mahogany table. "Apologize to your sister, who's probably getting hurt and maimed or even killed right now, Christopher! Apologize to her for forgetting about her so soon; so easily!"At least I have gotten to find out who the King's favourite child is, by the outburst. The Queen looks shocked at the King, and rises, walking over to him and patting his back like a child, as if to calm him. I stay seated with my face looking down shamefully. My
**NOELLE'S POV**I feel like I deserve most of what she is experiencing at the hands of the dwarfs. But after accepting to take them to where I hid the moon, they became a wee bit nicer.I am still not happy about being kidnapped by a bunch of tiny beings, but I will take my chances and hope that when we reach my home, the dwarves will be more willing to help me out than I expect they are now.I think I might have misjudged this place. It is definitely dwarf sized, just not as much as it was in our old world. It had been around the size of a small village. A lot bigger than I thought. I have only been here a short time, but my stomach keeps growling and I feel like I can not get enough air and it hurts so bad.And there are not many regular sized humans around. Which probably has something to do with why I have not been able to see any other normal sized
The dwarfs are caught with the stars, and they are confiscated from them. But the dwarfs and the regular sized man say some spells and disappear before anything can actually be done to them.Noelle insists that the moon and stars are returned though, before anything else happens to them. Although the great book of spells is actually missing, Noelle knows the words by heart because they were so catchy and caught her attention as far back as childhood, when she recited them as poetry for a talent competition. She did not win, but everyone had appreciated how much it must have taken her to learn such complex Latin.Noelle, the Prince and Scarlett, still in The Prince's body, showed up in fellowship for the final spell to return the moon and stars back to Moonilia and right every wrong. As Noelle carries out all the necessary rituals and starts reciting the spells, Scarlett leaves the Prince's body.
"I deeply apologize for that. I thought it was the best thing to do at the time, but I know better now. I am so sorry." Atlas apologizes to Atlene and he nods finally, smiling as he reaches out to hold Atlas's hand. "Oh well, I guess now that all of that is resolved, I can tell Atlene everything that actually happened." Scarlett says happily. The moon goddess eventually grants them leave and bids them farewell after promising that they would return to meet everything right as it was before everything went to the fire. She called it her own little gift to her friends for saving her. The moon goddess assures Atlene that Ringan is home safely and cannot stop talking about her adventures, even though no one exactly believes her. She too has been rewarded by the moon goddess. "By the way, Scarlett." The moon goddess says just as Scarlett is walking away. Scarlett stops and bows in humility. "I just want to tell you that Sam is alright, and that her baby is fine too. Her name is Scarlet
