We could have stood there for days and they would not have come back. We could have waited there for hours on hours praying but they were not coming back thus we had to prepare for the worst yet I was too weak to even open my mouth, none the less move. My arms wrapped around my torso, cold to the core, not sure if it was from the temperatures or being apart from my mate. I could feel the distance grow with the large hole widening in my chest along with the unbearable emptiness that threatened to drive me insane.
