34. THE KING'S BLOOD ON MY HANDS

“Get him up, get him up please.” I shot, no one seeming to snap out of the feelings they were buried in. I tried standing, afraid to hurt him, but the king was passed out so I sucked in a breath and tried standing up with him.

Brum was scattered on the floor, his mind not there, knowing he had gone through the worst torture with my heart tearing for him. I wished I could go to him and apologize but I could not.

My tears were blinked back.

“Snap out of it and get the king up before he losses more blood. Someone link the doctor, we will take the king to his room.” I shot out, my body stepping back, my own body on fire with some of the whips having torn through my side, but that could wait.

A man ran up, helping me carry the king. I held one arm with the man holding the other. The king weighed so much I thought my legs would snap yet I would carry him. We walked away, blood dripp
