64. END OF THE WORLD

It was a sight for nightmares. It was a play for demons. The screams had it worse with the blood splashing all over the walls. My shaking hands held onto Conri. I felt as if someone was pulling a baby from my womb, so pale and sick I could not even scream. I could not even cry out as Alpha Bush tore through the Beta as if he was nothing.

I watched Brum’s body stagger side to side until he fell to the side, bleeding. The room finally fell as silent as it could with a royal beta having just been mauled right in front of them. Conri’s arms came around me, trying to pull me to his chest, trying to hide me away from the sight but I fought him. I wanted to see, I wanted to help but each time I moved it felt as if my back was tearing apart. Alpha Bush continued and I suddenly did not care if my back would rip open with all my insides falling out.

My body shifted, pushing from Conri who held me tight, not letting go.
