HELENA’S POV Throughout the day, I kept thinking about why Amy was in Draco’s bed, even though I didn’t make it obvious. She was laughing at me when I came because she had the upper hand in having his heart, I guess, but I found it more annoying than I thought I would. It’s not that I want Draco, but the thought of Amy being a nuisance to me just because she had crawled into his bed was infuriating. “Gosh! She’s annoying with her entire being” I muttered, pausing to puff out the air in my tensed lungs. Secretary Han went out to prepare for the ritual with the elders of the fourth tribe in order to monitor any strange activities they might have had in mind. Evening came and I was taken out of the palace to the clinic yard where the separation ritual would be taking place. The elders had previously met without the consent of Elder Conri and Boris before the ritual took place. They came together to persuade the Elder of the fourth tribe who would be in charge of the ritual to mess with the ritual in order to rope Helena in a mess and that would provide an opportunity for them to oust her successfully. “I really cannot trust Elder Boris and Elder Conri now because they are wrapped in her trap. As long as their child is lying at the mercy of that shameless woman, they will not make a decision as an elder of the pack but as a parent”. The Elder of the seventh tribe raised his voice. HELENA’S POV I didn’t flinch or feel afraid in the dark room even though the squeaking noises of my friends keeping me company on the cold floor was becoming annoying and disrupting my thoughts. I stood calm and collected in the prison cell while waiting for the decision of both the elders and the Alpha himself. One thing was certain, they would come searching for me sooner or later because the patients are at a very sensitive and critical stage but without me around to administer their required dosages, Secretary Han would never do that on my behalf and it will trigger the patients, sending them into a shock which should have been prevented if this didn’t happen. The elders’ voices were loud enough that I could hear faint noises from the walls of my new room. “Those creatures are fucking too loud for people who are incompetent” I muttered with a tired sigh, my eyes closing to get the sleep I have been deprived of for days. The Elder of the seventh tribe got his face scratched by an angry Draco and was rushed to the infirmary where he would be treated, but he kept yelling at everyone not to touch him. The anger about his plans going down the drain and also being dropped by the other elders who didn’t come to his help was eating him up and no one needed to tell him that he had gotten on the bad side of Alpha Draco. “Why would you even do such a stupid thing? Why would you throw the whole Luna into the prison without the Alpha’s permission? Are you trying to get yourself killed?” His wife scolded him as she tended to his wound, but he wouldn’t have it. He flipped the water in the bowl in front of him in anger to protest. “Why would you call that traitor our Luna? You are one of the problems we have in this pack! That woman should not be putting on the crown of this pack for what she and her family members have done” he growled, and his wife, who was tired of his tantrum, threw the towel in her hand. “The

Helena resumed her work at the clinic the next day without hesitation and everyone couldn’t hide their gladness that she was still ready to treat them even after the mess that had happened. An old woman whose grandson was part of those being treated staggered forward with a packed box of apples in her hands. “Thank you for not giving up on us. I know how hard it must have been but you still came back. This is my little gratitude since I have no money to pay for the bills” the poor woman stated, her eyes filled with gratitude. She was not comfortable with the gift since she trusted no one and turned it down immediately. “You don’t need to pay for the treatment because the pack has covered all expenses. You should eat the apple with your grandson when he’s finally cured”, she answered politely, and resumed her walk when the woman blocked her path. “I have enough to eat with my grandson. That night, Helena woke up as planned and tapped Secretary Han, who was fast asleep gently. With a whisper, she notified her “It’s time” and Secretary Han dropped off the bed without hesitation. They tiptoed down the hallway to the extreme end of the second block where the library was situated. Streams of guards were there waiting at their positions without moving, their weapons in their hands, as if they were ready to devour anyone who trespasses. “Why are they guarding the library heavily? Is there something we shouldn’t see in there?” Helena muttered in disappointment. “What are you here for though? You can just get a pass if you want to check anything in the library” Secretary Han remarked from behind, rubbing the sleep off her droopy eyes before trying to move forward, but she only kicked a trash can lying by the side, sending it flying with a crashing sound afterwards. Immediately, a bright light flashed towards them. One of the guards there had pointed a bright torch light

HELENA’S POV I couldn’t fathom the sudden change in Madam Jean’s body all of a sudden after the intake of the medicinal tea that was brought in to her a few minutes ago. My scream of her name was so loud that it caught the attention of everyone in the brothel. Everyone rushed into the room to see what was happening and met the lifeless body of Madam Jean on my lap, her mouth smeared with the blood she coughed out of her mouth. “What is going on? Why is she like this?” one of the maids questioned, running to my side. Before I could answer the question, the head maid rushed in, sweating frantically as she ran to my side. “I think she has been attacked! The maid in charge of her medicine has been murdered in the changing room” announced the head maid, to everyone’s surprise. It was at that moment I realized what was going on, her death was not ordinary. “She has been poisoned” I remarked, quickly reaching out for her teacup. The faint smell that greeted my nose was familiar, it was

The marriage talk did affected me more than I thought it would. I never knew I would be that jealous of Draco getting married to another lady. The instruction he gave Beta Gray made my heart raced hard, I wanted to counter why he would be getting married to another person even when he has a queen in the pack but I didn’t want to make myself a laughing stock. “Son of a bitch!” tears almost choked me as I walked down the corridor of his quarters aggressively. Even till the next day, I wasn’t feeling too good. Most of the time they were talking at the meeting about when to fix, I was lost. “Are you even listening to me? My queen” called out Elora, the elder of the fourth tribe when she noticed that I wasn’t listening them anymore. Nodding my head continuously, “Of course I am listening” dropped from my mouth even though it was obvious that my attention was not there. The meeting was done and the day for the ritual was fixed before everyone dispersed leaving only me in my office. The
