 H was the smartest man I had ever known. The shame fell on Mr Mdnase. His reports came back negative. He had the whole old garage searched inside out. No DNA. No trace that life had been in the place.

This was the first time the national security had a lead at all. It was late but it told a tale. Someone in H's domain spoke. He had betrayed his lord.

I was scared for whomever it was. It was risky, for their life and their families. I don't know if they got caught or if they just chose the other way. I don't know what the national government promised them other than witness protection, but it seemed worth it.
