CHAPTER 12

She licked her chapped lips while closing her eyes. What she wouldn't do for a glass of pink lemonade on ice. She felt as though she had been scorched to death by the blazing sun, as she had been at the beach at South Padre Island a few years prior. The summer heat had returned with a vengeance.

She was drawn to the rustling sound of Silva looking through Ravena's pocketbook.

Silva grinned, her coffee-colored eyes were made darker by a layer of brown eye shadow that was applied over her ruby lips. "No driving permit. How did you arrive in Silver Town? No rented vehicles are missing. None of the parked cars in the neighborhood belong to Freya Catterton, according to Deputy Sheriff Trevor.

Ravena finally understood it. She and her sister shared the same first name. What a disaster. “Catterton?”

Silva scolded. So Ravena's last name wasn't that.
