CHAPTER 39

“A victim?” Lloyd’s eyes snapped to hers as he gave her a cold stare. The man had a gun to their child and shot at her and their children. “Please explain to me, how the hell is he a victim?” Lloyd said, fuming inside but trying to control it.

“I know what he did was bad and believe me, I want him to pay dearly for it too but you heard the doctor’s testimony yourself, he’s bipolar. He wasn’t himself when he did any of those things. Perhaps we could just forgive him and let him get the help he needs rather than allow him rot in jail,” Nancy replied calmly.

She hated Kaleb for what he did but still he was nice to her in the beginning. If he snapped as a result of her leading him on and because of his mental illness, the best she could do for him is ensure he gets treated.

“I can’t fucking believe you right now. Do you really believe that crap? He’s not fucking bipolar. That was made up. Made up! I’ll make sure he spends the rest of miserable life behind bars for trying to hurt
