Chapter 59

Mira opened her eyes and groaned. She rubbed the soreness on the back of her head. Sighing, she sat up and looked around. She was back inside the same room as before. Mira didn't expect Adeline to change her side that fast. But she understood why Adeline decided to team up with Alistair. He must have shown something to Adeline that made the latter help him.

Mira leaned against the stone wall, thinking again. Her wrists and legs were chained to the floor, and the chains were long enough for her to move about. But the chains were something else. She stared at the markings on the chains and noticed those were dark magic. No matter how hard she tried to break the chain, her attempts failed. Instead, Mira just sat there, breathing, and stayed in silence.

"So, you decide to keep quiet too?" Mira said to no one particularly.
