Max's POV

I smirked immediately I sighted Samantha’s figure emerge from the woods.

"Fucking bitch," I grinned. People who mistook silence for foolishness or weakness were the ones I despised the most.

She froze in her tracks at the moment she saw me with my soldiers.

With my senses heightened, I could hear her heartbeat throbbing fast, like a rat running out of its hole only to meet a cat waiting there for it.

"M-a-x," her lips quaked, ready to blurt a lie. But I didn't have the time for that.

I had wasted much time already, all of which Callum had taken advantage of.

"It's not what you—" she tried to say, but I shushed her.

Pointing at her, I ordered the soldiers who were with me, "arrest her!"

A bitch like her deserved to rot in jail. Starved and punished without remorse.
