Chapter 6

JASMINE'S POV

' How about I go dress up and we leave,' he says suddenly detached as he excuses himslef leaving me sulking in place wndering what the hell just happen.

I sigh finishing up my breakfast and putting our plates into the dishwasher as I wait for Aiden to come back down.

A couple of minutes later he comes back down carrying our stuff dressed in a gray pair of sweatpants and a shirt that clings to his muscular body. He has his sunglasses on hiding his eyes but from the way his jaw clenches I can tell he is still somehow in a mood.

' Did I say something wrong?' I ask him clearly puzzled by his behaviour but he doesn't answer me making his way outside to put our stuff into the car my face scrunching up into a frown.

' Rude,' I mutter heading back up to do a double sweep of the room and make sure that nothing was left behind.

Once I confirm we haven't left anything I make my way to the car where Aiden is already waiting as he opens the door for me to get him. The small gesture warms my heart despite him being upset about god knows what as he closes the door and gets into the driving seat.

' Can you at least say something,' I tell him now frustrated at the silence in the car as he drives away from the beach house.

' Its nothing,' he murmurs his body tensing and I huff out in frustration.

' Fine be like that then,' I sulk turning away from him and deciding to mirror his petulant behavior. Half an hour later he pulls up at what appears to be a restaurant killing the engine.

' Muffin can you look at me,' he says once he realizes that I pay him no attention and we continue to sit in silence.

' Come on baby please,' he sighs frustrated at my attempt to ignore him.

I turn my head to face him noticing the way his gaze pierces into mine as though trying to read through me.

' Why are we here?' I ask him.

' We could as well make a few stops along the way before we head back home since its our last day here,' he says and I nod my head not saying anything.

' Look I didn't mean to be a jerk back then,' he sighs startling me a little at his example of an apology.

' Is this you trying to say sorry,' I ask him clearly amused.

' You could say that,' he says sheepishly running his hands at the back of his neck.

' Well you suck at it but at least it was worth a try,' I tell him a smile appearing onto my face as he rolls his eyes at me.

I can't help but snicker as we both get out of the car before walking hand in hand into the restaurant. Upon entering I'm actually surprised to see a bowling alley together with a couples of other games like pool my eyes lighting in amusement.

' Whoa this is actually cool,' I gasp.

' Ever been bowling before?' Aiden asks.

' A couple of times yes,' I say feeling my competitive side slowly come to life.

It is impossible to not watch the bowlers surrounding us while gearing up. The sounds of the balls crashing into the pins were making my heart race. Aiden helps me tighten my shoes accordingly as he places my two bowling balls onto the ball rack.

' I am going to enjoy beating your sorry ass,' I say mischieviously noticing the way his chest rumbles with laughter daring me to try.

I take four long steps forward, swinging my ball backwards in preparation for an epic throw down the lane. Upon my fifth step, I launch my ball leaving one pin standing. I scream in excitement moving aside for Aiden to do his turn. I am genuinely surprised when he knocks down all the pins with the ball as he winks at me in triumph.

' Game on,' I tell him as we get into a series of competing against each other. By the time we are done I actually won against Aiden boosting my ego to a whole other level.

' I must admit muffin you got game,' says Aiden once the scores are out as I smile at him in response.

' And here I thought I would have to deal with a sore loser,' I laugh out playfully punching him in the arm.

' Never,' he chuckles gently.

The next thing I know is we try out all the other games and it is actually quite fun. Aiden seems to have a playful side which is fun to hang out with. I actually learn how to play pool since I sucked at it and Aiden couldn't stop teasing me about it. The rest of the afternoon goes by in a blur and it the most fun I have had in days.

'How did you and Tyler become best friends?' I ask him as we are on our way back home as he cruizes throught the streets. I am busy eating fries from Mcdonald's which Aiden decided we should get together with the large bucket of chicken which sits between us.

' Well our mothers met at the hospital during our births and ever since it's like we have been inseparable as we also grew up together,' he says as he opens his mouth for me to stuff a fry in it ignoring the way his lips brush my fingers leaving tingles behind.

' You two do seem pretty close,' I say as he slowly pulls up in traffic as he turns to face me and I can't help but shiver under his intense gaze. Like since when did I begin acting like this around him.

I go ahead to take a chicken drumstick taking a bite before it is taken from me Aiden taking a huge bite as well his eyes lit with mischief.

' You are unbelivable,' I say narrowing my eyes playfully in his direction when suddenly his phone rings.

' What's up,' comes Tyler's voice Aiden putting him on speaker phone. Speak of the devil.

' Nothing man you tell me,' says Aiden as he notions with his eyes for me to feed him more fries and I roll my eyes at him. So demanding for what.

' Hi Tyler,' I say Aiden narrowing his gaze at me as I smirk in response.

' Oh hey Jas I hope he is treating you right,' says Tyler and I hear Roly in the background?

' Yeah surprisngly he is wait is that my best friend in the background?' I shriek clearly surprised.

' Oh hey babe,' comes Roly's voice as me and Aiden steal surprised glances at one another.

' What are you two sleeping with each other now?' I ask when I hear them burst out into laughter like its funny.

'That's absurd Jas wew are just spending the day together since you two lovebirds decided to abandon us,' says Ty causing a blush to form on my face.

' First of all we aren't love birds,' I murmur out hearing Roly scoff in the background.

' Careful Ty your making muffin turn red,' says Aiden laughing causing me to swat his arm in warning.

' First of all where is my best friend and what have you done to her?' says Roly clearly in the mood to be sneaky.

The conversation goes on and on and before we know it we are out of traffic and I end up falling asleep since I am feeling slightly tired. I do not know how long I sleep the next thing I feel is someone slightly shaking me awake.

' We are here muffin,' comes Aiden's voice and I groan in annoyance turning away from him.

Next thing I know is the car door is opened as I am engulfed into his strong pair of arms the night breeze blowing against my skin causing me to shiver.

' I you don't open those eyes then I am going to drop you,' he whispers into my ear causing me to spring awake.

' Put me down,' I tell him groggily. He gently lowers me to the ground as he goes to unpack my stuff walking me to the door.

' I had fun this weekend,' I tell him as he leans against the wall directly facing me.

' Turns out you are not as boring to hang out with,' he says jokingly causing me to chuckle in response.

' Oh please I am the life of the party,' I tell him the wind blowing in my face as he uses that chance to tuck a strand of my hair behind my ear causing me to look away from him not wanting to give him the satisfaction of seeing my reaction.

' That you are,' he whispers out gazing into my soul as though trying to get a glimpse.

' Anyway I will see you tomorrow,' I tell him bursting our little bubble as he nods his head turning around to eave but I am quick to tug at his arm and pull him in for a hug. I feel his muscles tense beneath me before he slowly relaxes accepting my touch as he hugs me back.

' Goodnight Aiden,' I whisper to him a ghost of a smile on my lips as we pull apart.

'Goodnight,' he says turning around to leave and I knock on the door Jer opening it. The moment I step in Aiden roars his engine all this time having waited to see me get in before he drives off.

' So how was it?' comes my dad's voice as I run upto him and hug him. I had missed them both and was glad to be back home in their presence.

' Not bad at all in fact it was quite fun,' I tell him noticing the way Jer is smirking in my direction clealry amused with my answer.

' She seems happier than normal dad,' says Jer as him and dad exchange looks.

' What?' I ask them wondering what could possibly going through their heads.

' Are you sure nothing happened?' asked dad smirking and I end up laughing.

' Nothing happened in fact him and I just happen to be very good friends,' I tell them not waiting for their answer as I turn around to make my way upstairs.

' As long as your happy,' shouts Jer naughtily as I shake my head in amusement.

I end up changing and sinking into my bed that I had missed so much my thoughts replaying everything that happened this weekend. Thinking of him seems to bring a smile to my face as well as make me feel like I have someone I can turn to as a firend. Even though I have come to know him for a short  period of time he is slowly warming his way into my heart which makes me wonder if I really do think of him as a friend or much more because whichever it is it's frustrating, tragic and somehow beautiful.
