ALESSANDRO’S POV

I hated to believe Mattia had sold me out but it was becoming glaringly the obvious truth with each passing second.

Still it baffles me how I hadn’t read the signs. He must be a great actor; he did his job well barring me from every form of suspicion.

I wondered if chief Giovanni would come himself to see the last of a traitor. He could never intentionally miss a moment like this...seeing off a traitor by himself.

The hotness from beneath kept spreading. I could feel my feet and my entire body warmed up badly. I was still in my clothes. Can’t say if it was something to be thankful for.

Moments later, men started to trod into the place and towards me.

Well, I guess I could use some company at the moment even though it will be to my own disadvantage.

A total of five men lined up before me. A few had a certain familiarity in my head but none did I recognize as one of chief Giovanni’s men.
