Chapter 55: The Pain

Daniel's POV

"Jealous yarn?"

I turned toward Javier, who was driving. I wasn't in the mood, and she noticed my silence. I frowned and wondered how she knew when I wasn't telling the truth.

"It's obvious on your face, sir," Javier said. "I don't understand what that jealousy has to do with shooting at your house."

"Don't ask," I said, then took a deep breath. I can't get rid of my anger. That man is still talking to my wife.

After a while, we arrived at the place. We went right up to the car they had left behind. We discovered the car had been stolen, so they were brave enough to escape it. I turned around because there was no house on that highway, CCTV, or anything else that could have helped us figure out where that person was. I also looked at the road, where my fellow police officers continuously checked.

I was sitting in front of a police officer, looking at the wet area on the road.
