Chapter 18. Robust pain

Cassandra hugged me tightly while mumbling words of gratitude and relief.

Feeling delighted, I caressed her hair lovingly.

After a short moment, we pulled away from our embrace, and I let Israel hug his sister.

"I miss you, my sister... finally!" Israel cried in bliss as he held Cassandra tight.

I watched them hugging with tears threatening to fall and smiled.

Seeing them enjoying this moment was enough for me.

They broke the hug, and he turned to me.

"Thank you, Gwen... thank you," Israel stated gratefully, then I was stunned when he pulled me closer to his chest. "Please accept my appreciation. I owe you so much, Gwen."

As much as possible, I don't want to express how awkward I am now. Especially when he placed an arm around my shoulder, pulling me close to his chest.

"It's my pleasure," I said before we both separated to take a good look at Cassandra.

She was beautiful, lovely indeed, like a porcelain doll that would melt quickly under the sun. Her skin was perfect with no blemish
