Chapter Twenty XIII

Cigarette in between his fingers can't mend the coldness that he's feeling despite the thick coat he's wearing. As he drank the bottle of beer empty the warmth of the liquor on its way to his throat surpassed the coldness he felt.

In the middle of the night with no certain place in mind to go to, he was stuck inside of an abandoned house with an unstable ceiling and a broken door. There's nothing to see that can shield him against the coldness of the night, not even a window was seen. It was an open house with unstable wood walls and broken windows that just a homeless person can call home.

Every blow of the wind sends a shiver down his spine and the least he could do to at least protect himself from the coldness of the night was to hug himself.

He sucks on his cigarette and leans his back against the wet wood.
