We took the same path as they, Kalina and Brooke went behind, she was trying to pass Brooke some more lessons on how to deal with Hades, lowering the guard near him could mean our end.

I was listening to the conversation, but my thoughts were far away, I kept thinking about Alice and Peta, how they would be by now, whether Hades would have tortured Peta like he did with his brother, or he would have already killed him.

My theories were numerous and I had no answer of any of those, could not try to make contact with Alice, because Hades could be watching everything and we were counting on the element of surprise to win this battle.

"You can’t take orders, can you?" Nik’s voice rang through the trees before I could even see him.

"Did you think I would stay home, sitting like a pregnant, helpless woman? No, no, there’s no one else in this life that will hold me." he joined us and for a second Kalina shut up. "I thought you’d gone with the others to help."
