She was there, in my arms. Everything around us was debris from the small wooden house that I myself had built years ago, a refuge, to where I fled when I wanted to be away from everything. There was no cabin, but she was still there.

I could feel her heart pounding against my chest, my hand covering her back covered only with that ridiculous sheet.
