Chapter 19: Going Home

Judah watched as Gray was at the edge of the forest. He couldn't keep his eyes off her. It was a challenge to have her. And if only she hadn't tripped, the chasing between them probably wouldn't have ended until now. She's good at hiding her scent, mostly misleading him. He was almost at his wit's end, but thanks to the rocks, he caught her and held her firmly before he arrived.

It was his lucky day. Sure, he can run fast, but the woman runs faster than him. Maybe it was because she had trained since she was sixteen.

Gray knew he was staring at her down from behind, and she turned to look at him for a split second before turning back to the trees. Judah was tempted to approach her, but he stopped himself. He wanted to give her a chance to return to him alone.

Judah furrowed when he saw Gray's shoulders fall and her head slightly drop when she realized she couldn't find Alice. He felt a little bit bad about it, but he would try and make up for it as best as he could.
