CHAPTER 9

Marcus’s POV

Standing at Winston’s doorway, I suddenly felt uncomfortable and the strong urge to go back to my chambers. Did something happen to that girl? I wish there was a means to communicate with my wolf, then I would know exactly what its problem was.

Winston’s chamber was on the east wing of the mansion and mine was on the west wing, so it would take a while for me to get there. But I had to get there as soon as possible.

Or that is how I felt.

“Catch you around buddy,” I said and left his chambers without waiting for his response.

I wanted to be faster, so I used the southern wing, which was my mother's jurisdiction. On my way back, my mother intercepted me with her cohort of witches who believe they are wolves.

“Mother.” I greeted, bowing my head slightly.

“Marcus.” She called out in response. “Where have you been? I stopped by your chambers. ”

It was not because she cared.

“I hope you satisfied your curiosity, Mother?” I asked politely but wearing no warm smile.
