Emily didn't need to be told that she wasn't supposed to be there so when the young man that she assumed to be working with the men rebuilding the burnt down barn walked up to them and asked that they leave, Emily turned without hesitation and walked away.

She immediately regretted her decision though.

As she turned to walk away, she caught sight of the workers at a corner trying to lift one of their fallen friends to his feet. Emily could not get a good look at who they were trying to help but when his friends finally moved out of the way as they lifted him up, she immediately wished she had not done so.

The man who they lifted up didn't just have a look that had been stamped on his face by fear, but was also covered head to toe in blood. It was as if they had bathed him with blood.

Emily suddenly remembered the stain on the wall of the barn and she felt all the hairs on her skin raise. Was that the same blood that was on the man?
