~Alric~
Looking at his watch, he hissed, recognizing how late it was.
After the dinner with Alana and Kai at his office, Alric had more paperwork to accomplish, and a potential security threat he had to discuss with his Beta and Gammas. His family returned home earlier than he did, and while they spent a good one hour together, he did not miss Alana’s uneasiness. She was hiding something from him and he intended to find out.
He bathed and changed into comfortable clothes from his room. Only then did he make his way to Alana and Kai’s quarters. To his dismay, he found the door locked. ‘Just what is going on?’
He tried to mind-link with Alana, but there was no answer. ‘She is sleeping already? She did not wait for me?'
Of course, he could have woken up the housekeeper and gotten the keys to the room, but he was planning on being extra romantic that night. Accessing a vacant room closest to Alana and Kai’s, Alric climbed through the b

~Alana~ Days went by in a blur. Alana had her second visit with Valencia, and the great healer succeeded in having Alana’s seal retreat another inch. It was slower progress compared to the first attempt, but Valencia pointed out how the procedure took out more energy from her. She understood. The last time, Valencia rested for a week. Besides, Alana was already contented with the progress of her seal receding, and whatever was happening to her also applied to Kai. She and Alric determined it was only a matter of time. As for Geneva, Alric dealt with her. After learning why Alana became reluctant about being with him, Alric paid Geneva a visit the next day. He cautioned her one last time, and he made sure the entire school faculty was warned along with her. Alana understood Alric only wanted to scare them from speaking ill about her, but that did not help, though. In fact, other teachers at Kai’s school began to spread rumors
~ACE~ ‘Fools. What fools they are,’ Ace silently scorned, recalling how easy it was for him to deceive Drake. All he needed to do was to cause trouble for Kathryn, Drake’s mate. A few of Greyson’s men followed and assaulted Kathryn while heading to the office. Naturally, she called for Drake’s help. He went rushing to her, even without explaining things to Alana. He scoffed, thinking how he had succeeded in getting this far. He only had to influence his colleagues, and they did exactly as he suggested. When they were in Bay City, he told Max to warn Geneva. He knew the bitch was obsessed with Alric and had been dreaming of becoming the next Luna. He also knew Max was close to Geneva. Bay calling Geneva from Bay City, he already created a reason for Alric to doubt Max. Then there was Rex. When they returned to Bay City in search of Alana and Max, he was the one who directed him where to look. When Ace hinted to Alric and
~Alana~ Her eyes opened to the view of pointed pines and bright skies. Woodsy scent surrounded her, along with that musky damp aroma. She recognized that she was already in the middle of the pine forest, and based on how their plans were meant to be enforced, she assumed they were somewhere down south. She felt strong arms holding her upper body as she lay on the ground. Alana’s gaze fell on Dean, who was holding up a liquid potion within a glass tube. “Alana, drink this. This is a healing potion Valencia had made. It will help you get back your strength from the wolfsbane poisoning,” Dean said while raising her head. “Careful.” Her eyes narrowed at the glass tube. She recalled how Valencia had already made the said potion ahead of time, anticipating that Greyson would use the same poison in implementing his ploys. It would not have been put into use if Ace, or whoever, was involved, did not move their plans forward. She forced her
~Alana~ ‘I want everyone to be on the lookout for my son, Kai. He has been taken from school by force! Several instructors at the gymnasium were passed out and wounded, a few killed! My uncle Greyson did this! To Greyson and his men, let this be a warning to you! The whole pack is looking for you! Don’t you dare touch my son and that little girl you have with him!' Alana heard Alric mind-link with the entire pack. She looked ahead and saw how Alric was nearly out of her sight. Her jaws trembled as tears stung her eyes. She was holding on to Dean’s wolf for dear life while he ran like the wind, following Alric and Max. Alric had to sprint ahead, and Alana understood. She would slow him down when there was a dire need to find their son. After getting a hint from Ace, Alric mentally connected with all the employees at Kai’s school. Their fears were confirmed when they learned how Kai was taken by Greyson’s men and they dared take a young girl
~Alric~ Alric could not help but be angry with himself. How could he have not seen this coming? But then again, the enemy’s plans have changed, and they were taken by surprise at how early they had lured Alana. ‘Alpha, we are under attack here at the eastern borders! It - it’s all Greyson’s men - ‘ The connection with the pack warriors guarding the eastern borders was cut short, and Alric knew why. Clearly, his men were under attack! With an imposing growl, the Alpha ordered all of his men to their latest lead and, as he darted in the same direction, he tried relentlessly to call for his son. ‘Kai? Where are you? Are you safe? Be safe for me and your mother, son. Be safe.’ It was a long run, but Alric made it in just half an hour. With his speed and desire to save his son, he felt unstoppable. Max was behind him immensely, but he knew his Gammas would eventually catch up. As he blazed, a few warrior packs followed his
~Alana~ It had been a while since Alana recognized her discomfort. Her body was changing and she could not deny it. She was aching all over, sensing her body expanding in each second that passed. Her nails were elongating, and she had been growling like the wolf that she was. Some changes were obvious to her, but she was unaware of what other transformations were happening to her. Not long before, she ultimately found her son. He was being carried by the mouth of a wolf whom she did not recognize, but she could only assume it was Greyson. The wolf had dark brown fur with gray streaks on his back. She saw how Alric was not too far, being circled by two wolves, undoubtedly ready to fight. She did not have enough time to assess the situation further, for the next thing she saw was how the said wolf tossed her son to the ground like he was nothing but garbage. Fury quickly overcame her, and she sensed her blood shooting up in her head. She ran as fast
~Alric~ Embracing each other tightly, Alric repeatedly pecked on Alana’s face. Kai also joined in their hug, crying. Alric understood how Kai was relieved at being saved. Repeatedly, he kept calling their names, asking if it was really over. “It’s okay, son. Everything is okay now. You are safe,” Alric assured him. "Remember, daddy will always come to your rescue and now that Mommy's wolf is out, she will always protect you like she did earlier today." He turned to Alana and pecked on her lips, saying, “As for you. Didn’t I tell you we were mates?” Alric was certain Alana was crying for both reasons. She was happy that Kai was safe, and she also felt the same way - the connection, the bond between them now, as their wolves claimed each other as their fated mates. All the wait. After the many decades of search, and endeavors they both underwent, it was finally clear now that they were meant to be together.
~Alana~ The second they entered Alric’s room, the couple frantically took off their clothes, their lips frequently crashed together. There was no denying it, they were on fire! “Fuck,” Alric hissed, while his hands kneaded on Alana’s breasts. His amber eyes glowed to a near gold as he lowered his nose to the slope of her shoulders. He took a deep whiff and claimed, “I am going to bite you - mark you for sure! You are mine. Fuck, you are so mine.” Alana chuckled. Her eyes looked down at his large hands that massaged her breast. She said, “Yes, get over it already. I’m all yours and you!” Her finger traced the curve of his muscles and claimed, “You are mine!” She did not know where her boldness was coming from, but she did not care. He was hers, and she was sure of it now. No more doubts. And because of that, she will, from now on, whole-heartedly enjoy what belonged to her, Alric being at the top of her list. “What the!” Alric cou
