CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE

Nora’s POV

As I stood there, my feet weighed a ton. Finally, I dragged myself upstairs and went to the bathroom.

“Get a grip, Nora,” I muttered as I stared into the mirror. My mind raced. What would Michael say? Would he scold me? Ask me to leave the pack.

I sighed and walked out of the bathroom and to the front of my room. As I walked to Michael’s door, I had sweat on my palms, and there was this dull ache in the pit of my stomach.

I came face-to-face in front of his door. I didn’t know how long I stood there, like I had been glued to the ground like a candle.

I raised my hand to the door, and it was yanked open. It was Michael. A gasp left my mouth, but Michael just stood there. We locked eyes. There was no expression on his face. I had nothing to cling to. Michael was indeed a mystery.
