Chapter Nineteen

"Come on out, Missy!" The new guard assigned to my cell ordered suddenly, and I furrowed my brows in confusion.

"What did you say?" I asked, trying to make sure that I had heard correctly.

I needed to be sure that she just instructed me to come out because I hadn't been asked to leave this cell since I arrived here, and hearing her tell me to come out didn't seem believable.

"Are you deaf or something, kid? I said, ``Come on out, Missy!" She repeated herself, and now my question was why she was asking me to come out and why she sounded so rude for absolutely no reason.

I didn't even realize I had a new guard until yesterday, when she certainly showed up in front of my cell and yelled at me for singing too loudly.

I noticed yesterday that she didn't like me very much, and I hated the fact that she was taking out her anger on me when I didn't even do anything wrong to provoke her.
