chapter 3

Emma's pov*

She began to talk bad things about me.

"Hey sexy!" He called. But couldn't turn back due to embarrassment.

I felt his eyes were still on me as I stepped out. I really wanted to catch a glimpse of him.

In a few minutes, I was back at Jace's house.

"Forget about him I have a mate!" I said to myself as I spotted Jace's bare torso. He hadn't locked the doors.

"W.. what?"

In my wildest dreams I couldn't believe the sight before my eyes.

Jace? There he was in his briefs with a blonde. Fondling her chest while she mouthed dirty words.

"You bad boy, you are going to go harder than last time" she placed his hands on his groin, he moaned a little.

"You liked the last one?," he giggled.

"You sexy jerk" she chuckled as she roamed her fingers on his jawlines. Seductively licking her lips.

"Come here," Jace pulled her face to his. His lips pressed into hers, the blonde lady began to slowly grind into Jace.

How? How could Jace do this? Tears hung at the corners of her eyes.

"Why….Jace was cheating on me…." I muttered silently as i watched them so engrossed with each other that they didn't even notice me.

I was out of words, I couldn't even shout to alert them, I just watched.

The cake I had brought for him slipped from my trembling hand, crashing to the floor making a sound. They suddenly looked up. I didn't even realize I was even holding something.

"Emma? Why are you here" Jace said sitting up as he looked at me incredulous with an indifferent expression.

Why does he have that expression? Who was she?Why deceive me and do this? I stood as tears poured down my eyes.

"Why, Jace?" I managed to choke out, my voice quivering with a mixture of anger and sadness. Tears welled up in my eyes, blurring my vision as I tried to make sense of the situation.

Jace stood up, "It doesn't matter anymore, Emma," he replied coldly like I was interrupting them!

"How could you?" I sobbed, my voice muffled by the overwhelming emotions.

The lady with Jace stood hands akimbo by the corner in her bikini. She had a mocking look on her face as she rubbed Jace, shoulders.

"This is her? She finally meets us" The lady said.

"Do you think she loves you?" I asked, pointing a trembling finger at her while wiping my tears away with the other hand.

Jace smiled, and she giggled. "She does... You can see that," he said, his words cutting deeper into my wounded heart.

"If she did, she would have remembered your birthday!" I retorted with a scornful tone. "You jerk!"

"Is it that trashy cake you bought for his birthday as a gift?" She laughed pointing to the box of chocolate cake." Look for yourself," she pointed to the dining table. A box of cake lay on it.

The scent that wafted from it was nice, it was really expensive for me to afford. Who was she? I wondered. She knew his birthday too and had bought a cake for him! This has been going on behind my back!

"It doesn't even matter? That I brought this?" I asked referring to the cake.

"You are only stubborn and I am so done with that." Jace's response was callous. I took heavy and deep breaths as I watched Jace kissing her on the cheeks.

His expression suddenly became firm as he looked at me. "Emma from today I reject you as my mate, you're not worthy of me." He said.

Tears streamed down my face, and I spoke through my sobs. "I just... just wanted to live life," I screamed not being able to control my emotions.

My whole world had always been falling apart but I thought I could build it again with him. I was so happy I had found my mate so I gave him all my heart.

"What? How could you? I watched her hands move across his bare chest.

"Ahhhh!" I felt the surge of pain from the rejection course through me. I couldn't stay here anymore! I stormed out not forgetting to pick up the cake box and slamming the door. My feet suddenly stopped when it touched the doormat. I heard the giggling and smacking of lips from inside.

Jace? I shook my head, I had to accept reality.

The next morning just before dawn sat on the table of my room looking at the cake in front of me. Sarah my roommate had a night shift last night and was to return this morning.

I had to wait for her to come before I left. I sighed picking a knife and cutting into it. I cut the first piece and placed it in the little plate. suddenly deja Vu hit me.

The scene of my 10 year old birthday. The cakes were similar and it was as if the scene was repeating again. The screams, the alpha howls, the color of blood staining the floor and my birthday cake.

"Ahhhh!" I screamed bringing me back to reality. My face was messed with tears dripping uncontrollably and into the cake.

I took another piece of the cake, it was salty, that was my tears. I sobbed as I took piece after piece, another and then another, losing track of time. Suddenly, the door swung open, and my roommate, Sarah, walked in.

"You're back," I stammered, hastily wiping away my tears. I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw her.

Sarah looked at the cake on the table. "What's the occasion?" she asked, looking at the cake with her hungry eyes.

I shrugged. "Nothing special. You can have it." I realized I had devoured nearly a quarter of the cake already.

"I'm so tired," she stretched looking at the cake and licking her lips. "But yay! I will have it" she added with enthusiasm, she was already at the table and cutting a piece for herself.

Sarah noticed my watery eyes. "Your eyes are watery," she said putting a piece in her mouth.

"Oh, it's nothing, really." I waved.

Sarah smiled warmly. "Ummm… nice and tasty" she nodded "Awwwn…. You must be sad about leaving me," she said in a cute voice and I nodded.

"Not at all," I muttered, she didn't hear that.

"That's okay. I'll take all the chocolate."

"Right, bye" I said as I headed to the door.

"See you when I see you," she said with a mouth stuffed with cake making her words sound muffled.

I could see the tall towers and the old fashioned buildings as I stepped out of the car. We had arrived but I just found the aura of the buildings strange. 'What is hidden here!' I scented a strange aura that made my wolf active for a moment.

My eyes followed them as people lavished her with compliments and eagerly carried her bags, I wasn't noticed at all.

After all the necessary registrations, I couldn't wait to change into the comfy looking clothings that I was handed.

"The dressing rooms are that way" The attendant pointed down the hall.

There it is? I entered it and adjusted the curtains.

I was down to my inners when the curtains suddenly swung open.

"what! How dare you!" I let out a squeal and quickly grabbed my clothes.

"Woah…woah…" he said standing there holding onto the curtains as his eyes gleamed all over me. what a jerk!

"Get lost!" I instinctively stretched my legs out and kicked him, causing him to yelp and hastily retreat.

Breathing a sigh of relief, I quickly dressed up my. "What a pervert!" I clenched my fist wanting to get my hands on him.

"Males!" A bunch of humans, I resented them all. From the Alpha that night, to my father who couldn't protect us, to Jace, all of them!

I stepped out into the hallway, scanning the area for the boy I'd kick out earlier. But he was nowhere to be seen. I didn't have time to admire the clothing because I just wanted to teach him a lesson.

I shrugged,' he must have gone down this way', I continued down the hall.

"That's familiar," My ears perked up at the sound male voices. I stopped in my tracks to listen.

"Yeah, women pesky beings to make do with," he said with a disdainful tone. "They're all drama and no substance. Total trash." There he was in the middle of them. Those were of course the kinds of words you did here from a perv!
