Emma’s Pov:

As we entered the pack house, Scott’s mother was sitting down on the couch. She crossed her legs on a table in front, and a TV remote was in her hands. Her attention was focused on the TV.

As she noticed our presence, she sprung up happily and clutched her son warmly, pushing me a little. I was so quick to move; if not, I would have fallen down. “How did it go at the hospital?"

“Good, I'm so tired, Mom. Can we talk later?” It was more like a plea than a request.

“You must be tired; I'd let you rest now." She let him go and turned to me, who was almost at the staircase.

"Emma, or whatever your name is, I hope you are ready for the Luna Rite trials tomorrow. Everything has been set and kept ready for the day.

I forgot about the trials; I was so stressed, and I wished I wouldn't have done them.

“She’s not doing it; cancel all the plans immediately, Mom,” Scott said calmly, giving his mom a fierce look.
