Chapter Twenty One

“What!” A yell passed across the room.

“Why are they not here? I have to return to the school soon before I go missing. I’m having some classes and I have to see my girl. I can’t afford to make her angry again.” Brad yelled again through the phone.

Annoyance clouded over his face and the next word the other caller said deepened the lines that edged his forehead.

“What do you mean arrested? What about my money? How did they get arrested? I thought they were always careful, what do you mean?” He asked with deep lines on his forehead.

The whole room went quiet as he listened attentively to what the other person was saying, and the more time the person took, the messier his face became.

“So you’re telling me now that they went to the police station and tendered themselves in? Or what the heck are you saying!” He raged through the phone.
