106–Drunken Care

EUDORA.

Time seemed to still for a second or maybe more. I wasn’t even counting. I couldn’t. Not with the body that was weighing down on mine and the way my thought was spiraling around how it was possible for him to be there.

When I finally snapped out of it, I pushed him off me and he landed on the floor with a loud thud. My palm flew to my mouth in horror, maybe because I didn’t expect him to just roll to the ground like that like a sack of potatoes.

Horrified, I nudged his body with my foot, keeping a reasonable distance in case things went sideways.

“Alpha Rex.” I called, still maintaining the much needed distance between us.

I nudged him once, twice and the third time, he rolled over and I jumped back. A loud snore erupted from his lips. He reeked of alcohol and passed out cold on the floor of the room.

I let out a sigh of relief when I realized he wasn’t conscious. That was the only time I was able to gather my thoughts. I needed to think it through to be able to understa
